One of the world's greatest music icons passed away 20 years ago on 24th November at about 6:45pm (time in Great Britain)! Freddie Mercury surrendered to his battle with AIDS and closed his eyes for the last time on that day in 1991!
His friends, family, loved ones, and QUEEN fans, and the entire music industry lost one of the most talented musicians of all time! Not only was Freddie an exceptional musician, he was also one of the most generous and caring men to have graced this Earth. He lived his life to the fullest, gave his all to make us smile, and had the courage & strength of a god when dealing with the day-to-day tortures that AIDS set upon his life!
Freddie Mercury is not only my absolute FAVORITE Rock & Roll Musical Artist - He is a HUGE inspiration to me in my everyday life! I have learned so much about this incredible man in the past few years (not just the showman, but the Freddie that not many people saw)......This is mostly due to the wonderful Peter Freestone, and his continued love for Freddie and his desire to keep Freddie's spirit alive for all the world!
If you are a QUEEN fan, or if Freddie has inspired your life in some way - Lets all join together and send up a special prayer to Freddie and all that his legacy means to you!
This is an informal event that you can do wherever you choose however you choose. BUT I'd like for you to try to do it at 6:45pm (time in the UK) - SO, please find out what time THAT would be for your time zone! It also doesn't matter what kind of a prayer you do, or what you say...........as long as it comes from your heart!
